In order to fulfill integration demands of processors like the Intel 3rd Generation Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7, MSC has created a highly optimized product development landscape. Using a concurrent approach, Design & Production are tightly coupled together from the first idea until completion of the whole product life cycle.

Many medical applications require a lot of computing performance. MSC deliver this on the the COM Express modules, using the new Intel 3rd Generation Core processors with support for OpenCL. In addition to this new technology the platform also supports up to 3 independent displays, and USB 3.0.

Intel’s third-generation Core i5 and i7 processors, combined with the rich interface set of COM-Express, deliver the required computing and graphics performance for medical applications. Compatible Intel dual-core and quad-core processors, combined with Hyperthreading, Turbo-Boost and Open CL 1.1, deliver outstanding performance e.g. for X-Ray and Magnetic Resonance Imaging applications. And with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 unit featuring Direct-X11 and Open GL 3.1 in addition to triple independent display, all medical imaging needs will be covered.

The MSC design flow targets at highest design quality also giving best-in-class testability and producibility. 2D & 3D Design entries, PCB-layout, simulations and validations are tailored to match quick and reliable time-to-market.

Our latest COM Express modules based on Intel’s 3rd generation Core processors offer the highest computing and graphics power currently available on COM Express. Both pin-outs, type 2 and type 6 are available with the MSC CXB-6SI and the MSC C6B-7S product families. With up to four processor cores, a powerful graphics controller and fast dual-channel DDR3-1600 memory these products are ideally suited for medical applications like image processing in computed tomography or robotic surgery.  Intel’s 3rd Generation Core processors offer the highest computing power currently available on COM Express.

Using fully automated COM production processes, MSC allows for high-speed and globally competitive German manufacturing of all products . Built-in traceability, quality- and life-cycle management meets all demands of our vertical customers like medical, IA, or POS/POI segments.
